Great new idea, a lightweight room & blocker system made from an outdoor grade polyester voile giving an amazing combination of really effective windbreak & sunshade, excellent privacy, great view out & real comfort!

We've illustrated a full room set fitted to a Hymer B-Klasse right, but you can buy just ends and front panels if you wish. You can buy anything from a full room to just an end and you can even add an end part way along the awning to create a mini-room or cosy corner when you need that little extra comfort or privacy. We have customers who've used an existing Omnistor Rain blocker end with these fronts and sometimes with a matching 'inner end' too. The full set, full or part length, does of course keep out that British evening chill and with full rooms proving the most popular with our customers we've revised our product pricing and structure to focus on that ideal configuration. See below.

The wide range of subtle colours will match your motorhome too - with a choice of White, Grey, Blue, Charcoal or Burgundy, Green is also available but usually only to order.

The standard sizes will fit many motorhomes especially if a ground level gap is acceptable as picture left; but if yours is a bit higher or a bit lower or you want a ground level fit then that is no problem because all are made here in the UK and so skilled machinists can make shades to fit your own van at very modest extra cost. When considering measurements please do note the two different sunshade arrangements where the panels are either short of full height as in the interior view left or just down to the ground as pictured above. Full length front panels and precise ground level fit is only really available 'to order' as below (about 7-10 days)

Really Great Value!  The value is astonishing, full rooms are typically £120 to £150!  For comparison a full 'Safari Residence' might set you back £800-£900.

Sizing:  Most awnings take the standard end to suit '2.5m projection awnings'. Big awnings like the Omnistor 6900 and 8000 have a 2.75m projection so require an extra wide end and being often fitted to large vehicles might need non-standard height too. At the other end of the scale there is also a narrow end for smaller awnings on panel vans. Both of these are usually made to order using measurements you'll give us. Front panels are easy - different 'standard' panel widths cater for variations in awning length and any size can be made up in 7-10 days. All 'stock' front panels are approx 2m high to suit many vehicles. Other heights are to order. By the way the end/Side shades will fit anywhere under your canopy they don’t have to just go on the ends so you can use one of the standard length front panels even if it isn't exactly the length of your awning!

We do recommend a full room made to size. To make it ideal for your 'van we'll need these dimensions; height from ground to the awning fabric close to the vehicle wall, height to the underside of the front rail with the awning normally erected (typically 1.85 to 2.20m), the width of the fabric end panels and finally the length of the front panel fabric which is normally the same as the front rail slot - but can be slightly shorter if using the Fiamma S hold downs which also use the slot. Please don't guess - it costs less by doing it properly!  If in doubt about what is needed please (click).

Proven technology and durability:  The Dutch have been using this system in flower & bulb fields for many years to protect delicate blooms. The panels are made from a light polyester voile that does the job superbly. Being very light they can be erected and taken down in minutes unlike a traditional heavy safari room.

Fixing: The end panels use poles and elastic for support while the front panels simply slot into the front rail. All are pegged down via loops. It is impractical to post the poles, especially given their vulnerability to damage in transit, so we supply the pole fittings and ask you to go to a hardware store to buy standard everyday and cheap clothes line props and do a little DIY to attach our fittings to those. All this saves you money!  But if you prefer - Fiamma Rafters do a great job I'm told, we can supply those too. Another 'by the way', the end panel is usually used as the door by sliding or loosely folding the panel back.

Construction:  Our Standard End Shades are made up of 3 sewn-in panels and are cut at an angle to fit under your canopy with elasticated loops at the top to slide the pole through. All 3 panels are joined with a strengthening tape and have elastic loops at the base for securing to tent pegs. These Standard End Shades are approximately 200 cms (78”) in height at the front and 249cm (98”) at the rear. If your canopy front height is lower than this You can get over this by angling it outwards at the front or accept the panels touching the ground as in this picture. If it is a lot longer than this you can add elastic onto the bottom loops and accept a fair bottom gap. Alternatively we can make you longer or shorter custom sizes that do fit and often at little extra cost. LH/RH?  As with all sewn products the End Panels do have a face and reverse side. So although they can be used either end you might want to let us know if it should be left hand or right hand if ordering just one off?  LH/RH is as viewed looking at the awning from outside.

Versatility:  You may wish to purchase just a front panel the full width of your canopy or a narrower one that you can position or slide along as required. Some people prefer to have two smaller shades on the front to create a doorway but please do note that where panels butt up lik this there is always a small gap due to the header tapes; others prefer to use the ends as doors. Quite a few customers purchase just one end Shade and a matching shorter Front Shade so as the Sun moves around or the wind changes through the day you may swap the end shade to the other end of your canopy and slide your Front shade along your tracking to give you a mobile cosy corner. You may wish to purchase two end/side panels and a complete front panel that creates a safari type room offering you protection from sun & insects and a place to sit in the evening keeping out that wind chill - and always with that delightful view out as illustrated left. Groundsheets:  Breathable ground-sheets are now available in a quality neutral grey fabric, usually as illustrated right as the base material. Various lengths from 3.0m to 5.0m all at 2.5m wide will suit the majority of Safari / Residence rooms. These are often despatched separately from other goods. Variations possible at our discretion.
