Appliance Safety:  As always with inverters the manufacturers warn "Sensitive high-tech appliances, including electric toothbrushes and some audio-visual equipment, requires a pure sine wave voltage, just like from the home power socket. Fluctuations in the voltage supply may cause failure or even damage to them". As we understand it that means inductive/capacitive loads and some switch mode chargers for laptops, notebooks, mobile phones, etc. In these cases a Pure sine wave inverter is the only sensible choice to protect your other - expensive - items from damage.

Note: Pure Sine inverters tend to have high Quiescent amps - but on the higher power SinePower models there is a sleep mode to bring those down to less than 0.3A. Turning off the lower power 150-350W models when not in use is essential and a remote on/off switch with warning light might prove very helpful here.
