Arriving Mid February: SMD LEDs have always been highly regarded but expensive. With the technology moving on we can now bring these to you at a sensible price. SMD lights are delivered in Warm White as standard, and also provide a 120° beam of light, so light up a larger area than the older Super Bright (45°) LEDs. We also offer a few 'Power LED' lights, these have a higher tension absorption so generate some heat and need dissipating bodies. They are also equipped with voltage regulators, so can guarantee light even with the irregular voltage sometimes seen in leisure vehicles. All our LEDS (except Lockerlite) are warm to neutral white and not
the blue
light as seen in battery and early leds.
I'd say ours are more sunny-daylight-white than that rather over orange-tungsten-warm
of lower powered conventional bulbs. I also think the few ultra warm LEDs I've seen are rather unpleasant, not at all cosy like traditional
tungsten but more like the new energy saving household lamps that many
people find so disappointing. All in all we are very happy to recommend
this range. Curiously when halogen was introduced everyone wanted the
cooler cleaner halogen
NB. Beware of cheap imitations with bluish and rather poorly focussed diffused light!! Fitting & brightness info: • The direct bulb replacements MR11 and MR16 are straightforward plug-ins in a near identical envelope. The revised 2010 versions are MR16 24-LED to replace 10W and MR11-6m LED to replace the smaller 5W units. NB: These are not downgrades - the lower number of LEDS this year represent improved technology! • The G4 replacements are slightly more complicated because a G4-fit LED is necessarily bigger than the miniature G4 bulb it replaces, it is still plug-in of course, but now in comes two versions - 'horizontal' for use only where the bulb comes in from the side of the reflector and 'vertical' to replace a central bulb positioned vertically. Their effective brightness varies with the light fitting itself because most fittings were designed to control, emphasise or diffuse the point light source of a G4 bulb ... but LEDS are multiple and dispersed light sources so may behave differently depending on the design of the light fitting and any cover. Also please bear in mind that traditional G4s come in 5W, 10W, 20W and 35W ratings but the LED G4s below replace either 5W or 10W bulbs, no leds will mimic the brightness of 20W or 35W units. To replace high power ceiling lights like these we recommend using multiple units or our N28408 triple light unit. Constant improvements in the technology mean it can be hard to compare apparent brightness simply by the number of included LEDS, for example our G4 replacement has fewer this year but gives exactly the same brightness as before! Quoted lamp dimensions are overall but the recessed N28382 for example requires a cut-out of about 52mm dia and a back space of maybe 20mm. Lighting to banish flat batteries! Customer feedback ...
"I replaced all the halogen lamps on the Swift with LEDs sourced from
motorcaravanning. The old halogens were not all that bright, I suppose you
could call the colour temperature warm and friendly, and they consumed over
15amps when they were all switched on. Theoretically that wouldn't take
long to flatten the leisure battery. With the LED's, they are a lot
brighter and consume in total, just over 1.5 amps in total as measured at the
battery. Obviously not all the lights are used at the same time but even
2 or 3 conventional awning lights at 21w each can put one hell of a dent
in the battery in an evening 'blethering' over a bbq. The LED
replacements are amazing. Well worth it". HC. They really do make a
big contribution - especially in winter.
Heos LED Awning Lights. "The Rolls Royce of Awning Lights". The
perfect way to create a comfortable, stylish, and well illuminated
environment and all while conserving that precious battery power. These Heos
LED lamps can be used on the Fiamma F45 and Omnistor 5 & 8 series - the
5002 e.g. The lights mount into the awnings with no drilling necessary*
and once fitted the lights can be left permanently in the awning without
problem. Beautifully packaged so a nice gift too. The Heos Awning Lights
are described as "Superflux cool-white styling" and are supplied with 5m
cable. Three versions are offered - 18 LED, 36 LED and 54 LED, all are
the same twin tube design but vary in length, the 36 LED unit is
illustrated.
*drilling to route the 12v cable is optional of course. 
Also
new is the amazing Omni LED 5m Light Strip pictured left. A truly
excellent new exterior product featuring light dispersed over an
extended length but with very low power consumption. Very effective for
awnings and very slim it is both flexible and fully waterproof. It comes
complete with outdoor grade 3M tape and the whole thing is weatherproof
to IP66. The self-adhesive tape and flexible construction offers easy
application to clean surfaces and the whole unit has long life. The strip has 60 Power LEDs
per metre with each metre consuming a miserly 350mA, it can even be
shortened in 5cm increments for perfect fit. A 1m 12v power lead is

Labcraft
Lockerlite: Really great product! No wiring, no hassle,
just stick it in a cupboard with the supplied adhesive pad and it will
add fully automatic in-cupboard lighting wherever you want it!
Battery powered with low consumption, long life, LED technology, you'll most
probably never replace the supplied batteries. Fully automatic based on
door opening and closing via the built-in plunger so you'll never have
to remember (forget?!) to switch it off. It's small, neat, effective and
really simple to install and use. Stick-on or screw-on 60*x30x15mm *plus the
plunger which is ~7mm at the on position and 2-4mm in the off position.
2x CR2025 batteries included. One of life's affordable little luxuries -
we all need lots - as now fitted to several cupboards in our own
motorhome, even where we didn't realise we needed them!

Lighting design: Exciting new products for the new year.
Already causing quite a stir in new vehicles LED lighting is one of the
new 'must haves' in motorhomes. Our warm white LEDs use a fraction of the electricity of
conventional bulbs, produce virtually no heat, and lend themselves to
new compact designs so are both stylish and battery-saving - it's not hard
to see why they are becoming so popular.
It's hard to make exact
comparisons with halogen lights because the quality of the light is very
different but a 16 LED light might seem equivalent
to something approaching a 10W halogen unit but uses just 0.65W i.e.
less than 1/10th of the electricity - so no more worries about lights
flattening batteries then! Lots of people say it is easier to read with
a LED spotlight because of the higher contrast
bendy or swivelling spotlight designs, and our amazing
swivelling linear
lights, this makes for great
improvements in usefulness with real style and all while saving your battery at the
same time, terrific!
