Cycle Citi:  Now here's a welcome development in this day and age, a far east corporation setting up their European manufacturing base in the UK!  The Cycle Citi factory in Wales produces over 100,000 bicycles per annum with a labour force of 70 people and it has the capacity to produce many more bikes - mens, womens, childrens, junior, juvenile and even tandem cruisers. Many bikes are sold under their own brands like Syncrony, Pro-Motive, and Urban Kids but less well known is that bespoke versions are manufactured for other major bike companies and big retailers and even branded for major sporting organisations. These really are 'big name' companies we're talking about here and some of them are truly international names. As well as sales in the UK and Ireland, bikes are exported all over Europe with strong markets in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, France and Italy; another refreshing change, British exports!  Not surprisingly the Cycle Citi story has been published as an example of success by UK Trade & Investment, the Government organisation set up to encourage and support UK based but internationally trading companies.
